Plum — medical clothing born in northern Spain
The story of Plum began in 1939 in the city of San Sebastián, where the Atlantic Ocean meets culinary art, respect for craftsmanship, and a love of work that permeates every area of life.
For three generations, the Plum family has run a small but respected tailoring workshop, once making uniforms for chefs, hotel staff, and local factory workers. The business was headed by Andrés Plum — a man obsessed with quality, details, and good names. He always said: “It’s easy to work with people if you respect them — that’s what matters.”
Everything changed when his daughter Clara entered medical school in Bilbao. Already in her first year, she complained to her parents that the uniforms in hospitals were uncomfortable, outdated, and impractical. Andrés, always attentive to the needs of his loved ones, took her words seriously. And, as always — started from scratch.
Together with Clara, he gathered a small team of seamstresses, designers, and technologists. They began by studying the movements of medical staff, testing various fabrics, consulting with doctors and nurses. The result was the first collection of Plum medical clothing — ergonomic, elegant, and fully aligned with professional requirements.
